A Comfortable Night’s Sleep, Just Like Home

The tasteful design style of Knockcarrig House is influenced by the landscape of Kerry. Each room features paintings of the area and is named for the Irish wildflower that inspired its colour scheme.

Comfortably sleeps 10 people: there are 5 bedrooms, each with its own bathroom (2 of them have a bathtub as well as a shower).
If there are a few more of you, use the pull-out sofa in the living room as well.

Heartsease

The Heartsease room features soft beige and gold colours, reminiscent of the delicate field flower that appears in ploughed land all over Ireland. This room is named after how we believe you’ll feel when you walk in and relax on your bed, as you rest your eyes on splendid views of the MacGillycuddy Reeks mountains and meadows.

Comforts: Large 5-foot bed with comfortable mattress, soft linens, extra blanket, reading armchair, bedside stands, bathrobes, separate en-suite bathroom with shower, hairdryer, wall wardrobe.

Hawthorn

The Hawthorn room is a blend of easy browns and beiges, the colour of firewood and of hawthorn branches with their bright white and taupe flowers. From the bedroom window, you’ll see the beautiful landscape and meadows. The hawthorn has a long history in the folklore of Ireland, and is linked to sacred places as a symbol of the end of winter.

Comforts: Large 5-foot bed with comfortable mattress, soft linens, extra blanket, bedside stands, bathrobes, separate en-suite bathroom with bathtub and separate shower, hairdryer, wall wardrobe.

Traveller’s Joy

The Traveller’s Joy room celebrates autumnal, gold, rust, and deep browns of beautiful meadows. It’s named after the perennial with its twisting leafstalks that blooms in July and August, with petals that bend backwards, as if looking back on summer. In autumn and winter, its fruit look like small balls of soft white down.

Ragged Robin

The Ragged Robin room theme is a call-out to this special flower that grows in fens and marshes, and attracts butterflies with its honey. The soft greys and browns are evocative of Ireland’s prominent stone walls, separating fields from each other. The more, the merrier: two can enjoy the views of the mountains and the meadows from the beds.

Comforts: Two twin beds (3-foot) with comfortable mattress, soft linens, extra blanket, bedside stands, bathrobes, en-suite bathroom with shower, wall wardrobe. On request, the twin beds can be repositioned as a 6-foot bed.
