The Kerry Way is a 230-km Irish waymarked circular hiking trail that runs through the Iveragh Peninsula, a paradise for walkers. It starts and finishes in Killarney. You can walk all of it in stages, or hike particular trails, like the one from Killarney through the Gap of Dunloe, for example. The Kerry Way also includes parts of the MacGillycuddy Reeks mountains, visible from Knockcarrig House, that have the highest summit in Ireland, Carrauntoohill (1039 meters). For a less steep climb, there’s the Old Road to Kenmare, which brings you to the beautiful and artistic town, less than an hour’s drive from Killarney.
