From almost anywhere in the house, you’ll see views of our beautiful farmstead meadows or the striking mountains. Don’t be surprised to see our quiet young cows at the back of the garden in their field, peacefully grazing the meadow grass.
You may even spot a few Irish mountain hares or wild rabbits, and a huge variety of summertime winged visitors in the fields.
Luxury farmhouse for travellers
We built Knockcarrig House over a few years on the edge of our private 20-acre farmstead, and our first guests stayed in 2015. The name characterises the type of land that surrounds the house as well as the rocky face of the MacGillycuddy Reeks mountain range, visible from many of the rooms in the house. A traditional Irish stone wall, typical of this area, borders Knockcarrig House, inspiring the name and also the décor style of the house.
